Done as a comparison between R10 & R7. R10 won.
So, I have amassed over 1.5 million photos in over 55 years of photography. I started my Canon Digital journey in 2000 with the D30. I then went through many Canon bodies. 30D, 60D, various Rebel bodies, Txi bodies. I decided to try the R series. Bought an R10 then the R7. I expected the R7 to be So much better. On paper it had the R10, not to mention my trusty 250D, beat by a large margin. So much for paper. Quite frankly, the R7 shots right out of the camera are So disappointing I cannot justify keeping it. The R10 is far better out of the camera. The R10, like my 250D, on the other hand, has wonderful shots right out of the camera. I have to do very little to use the shots for whatever I need them for. The R7 has SO Many quirks and issues I cannot even understand why So many professional photographers keep messing with it. The R7 is like the camera that Should be Great bit just is Not. And So many photographers keep saying 'I just keep trying to get better with it'. Why?? Canon should Not have pushed out a body that you have to mess with for months or longer, tweaking, forgive issues, just to take good shots. I have hated very few Canon bodies, but the R7 is one I just will chock up to a 'problem child' that was not ready for prime time. The R10 (like my 250D) takes fantastic photos, well balanced and pleasing right out of the camera. And then with a little Photoshop or Topaz time you can make Great shots. I do not care about the 24 vs 32 megapixels. In fact I think the 32mp Sensor is part of the issue with the R7. Too many pixels in too little space. 24mp is just fine. I only have OS/IS lenses so not having sensor shift does not matter for me. I also do not take super fast frame rate shots. I like taking the time to get the shots I want. The R10 takes 15fps mechanical and 23fps silent. That is plenty enough. The supposed battery life difference is nonsense. I picked up some new batteries for my R10/250D and I get more shots with these than the R7. Video for me is just a side note. Maybe I take some videos of birds or other wildlife, but they are short snippets. The photo quality is all I really care about. Literally All of my photos from the D10 are better than the R7 right out of the camera. The R7 has too many issues. If you have to spend months or years to 'learn' a new body then Why? I really wish photographers would stop making 'allowances' for bad bodies being pushed out too soon. I Love the R10!

The Digic X processor is by far Canon's best yet.
I'm not a professional, but a fairly seasoned and avid amateur. For Canon DSLR's I started with a T4i, then to a T6i, then a 5d Mark ii and a 6D Mark ii. The R10 is superior to all these cameras in every way. It's fast, light weight, accurate colors, incredible auto focus, and loaded with many of the features the big brother's R5 and R6 have. With a good lens, it's very capable in low light also. The Digic X processor is a huge leap in technology from its predecessors. Even the professional high end cameras with a Digic 7 can't compare to the lowly R10 with a Digic X IF you put a good lens on it. The RF lenses and head and shoulders above the EF lenses and more option are becoming available all the time. A lot people complain about the lack of 3rd party lenses. Frankly, I've never owned a 3rd party lens and don't ever plan to.

R10.. Ich liebe dich !
Anfangs war ich mir unsicher. Zuerst wollte ich die überall vergriffene Canon R7. Doch.. ich wollte meine Kamera sofort. Also bestellte ich die R10. Sie ist klasse. Alles mit an Bord. Außer bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen. Hier spürt man schon einige Schwächen. Jedoch alles verschmerzbar. Der Autofokus schaltet unfassbar schnell. Einzig, der kleine Akku ist eine wirkliche Schwäche.
