If you're interested in a Galaxy Watch 7 or above, you might want to read through this before you buy one. In general, a smartwatch like the Watch 7 is a somewhat undergrown version of your phone. I don't mean this in a demeaning way but the usefulness of the watch largely depends on how reliant you are on your phone, and what features your phone does not cover that your watch does. The Watch 7 is a great companion for those who are health-minded, either due to their old age, or exercise/workout regularly. It is also very useful for those who may have their phones often misplaced, forgotten, or left in hard-to-reach places. However, if you almost always keep your phone on hand, you'll have little reason to ever glance at your wrist. The battery on the 40 mm (which is what I bought) is average. I expected this but it's a surprise and a real shame to see that neither the powersave function nor the Watch Only mode (this is an extreme version of powersave) could be tied to Wrist Detection so they automatically turn on when the watch is not worn, which could've extended the battery to days or even weeks. The Blood Pressure, ECG (heart rate monitor) and Sleep Apnea features are locked to Galaxy phones. In my opinion, this should be illegal as no paying customer should have to tolerate unusable functionality that clearly contributed to the cost of the phone. The icing on top is the excessive bloatware that is unremovable and probably in the large part contributes to battery drain and slowdowns. Finally some points about LTE. I highly recommend the LTE version but ONLY IF you can connect your sim to the watch. I tried both Airtel and Jio. Jio connected fine, but the Galaxy Wearable app notified me that Airtel does not support watches. This is interesting to me because my Apple Watch 7 from a couple of years ago connected to my Airtel sim just fine. Either way, mentioning this here so users know. The reason I recommend LTE is because the watch no longer needs Wifi and Bluetooth to be fully functional. This saves a lot of battery and lets the watch stand on its own. This is especially useful to notice calls when your phone is on silent, or stored in a backpack/purse. There's Mobile Data on the watch that can be set to auto, and in powersave mode the watch is still usable but with a significantly longer lasting battery. The watch cost me 22500 Rs on Reliance Digital with a credit card cashback saving me 8000 bucks. That's an okay price in my book, but only if the watch is used by someone who fits the criteria I mentioned above. If you're a woman, or buying for a woman, I would suggest the 40 mm. The body of the watch can be bigger than you expect. At the very least, go to a store and try out any of the on-display Galaxy watches first before making a purchase.

It's a good watch to buy, battery life lasts ~2-2.5 days. Watch has calling facility via LTE ESIM. Fitness & sleep tracking is accurate. Slightly heavy though - if you used to wear watches with metal straps then you won't mind it's weight. Otherwise think before you buy.

I purchased the gear s3 in March 2020, at first all was great, but every time I had to download an upgrade, the watch stopped working until I deleted the app and reopened it.
Last month I performed another upgrade this time the watch stopped charging and is completely dead. Samsung were less than helpful and of course wanted me to upgrade the watch.

Purchased this watch new back in March of 2020 and over three years later she still works flawlessly. Battery works great, no burns on wrist from monitor. Amazingly enough shes flawless, with no scratches or chips. I've been using the Spigen liquefied case protector.
